Voltmeter

A voltmeter is an instrument for measuring the electric potential difference between two points in an electrical circuit. Voltmeters should be wired in parallel and in theory have infinite resistance (in practice they have such a high resistance that it can be approximated to be infinity).

Voltmeters are represented in circuit diagrams as a circle with a "V" in the centre.
