A lepton is a class of elementary particles with spin that do not undergo strong interactions. There are 6 types of leptons know as flavours, which are split into two main classes: charged leptons and neutral leptons. Additionally the leptons are grouped into 3 different generations one charged lepton and one neutral lepton per generation.
